PMP / METHODOLOGY / South Africa

Transparent by design.

Clear definitions, stable questions and disciplined confidentiality are essential to the credibility of every published reading.

01

Respondent universe

Owners, directors, executives, managers and specialists with sufficient knowledge of their organisation’s petroleum operations.

02

Survey structure

Eligibility confirmation, permanent industry core, primary-sector conditions, current-quarter special topic, outlook and optional commentary.

03

Confidentiality

Identity and analytical responses are separated wherever practicable. No identifiable company cross-tabs are published. Public sector cuts are suppressed below five responses, with seven or more preferred for interpretation.

04

Scoring

Canonical index calculations take place outside the collection form so methodology can be versioned, audited and consistently reapplied.

05

Response integrity

One primary response is retained per organisation, sector and quarter. Potential duplicates are reviewed using organisation and work-email-domain signals before analysis.

06

Panel separation

The operator headline panel is analysed separately from demand-side commercial and fleet users and from ecosystem, advisory, finance, regulator and industry-body respondents.

07

Limitations

Every edition will disclose fieldwork dates, sample composition, weighting, panel composition, data suppression, revisions and material limitations.
